Highpoint’s launch hits the skies

In a flurry of great pomp and ceremony, The GPT Group’s Highpoint Shopping Centre officially flung open the doors to its newly created fashion precinct in the heart of the shopping centre.

Bringing to the western suburbs what it’s been lacking for so long, the shopping centre plays home to some of the most popular international retailers as Zara and TopShop, while welcoming 80 new fabulous contenders like SuperGlue Store (like Glue Store, only better), Alannah Hill, Country Road, Gorman, Fat and some old staples such as Calibre, Industrie and sportswear retailers for those crazy activewear lovers.

The new offering for Melbourne didn’t come in cheap with Highpoint’s owners blowing a massive $300 million wad on the place for the betterment of its Australian and international retailer offering.

For those close to the city and north-of-the-river, this is where you need to come shopping.

The centre also welcomes the western burbs’ own David Jones outlet, which the company has been busy stocking and bumping-in for the past few weeks; now primed and ready for operation.

To celebrate the official opening of the new precinct, Highpoint has partnered with one of the UK’s biggest and best fashion bloggers, Poppy Dinsey of What I Wore Today (WIWT) who is touting her lovely face all over the shop as ambassador for the centre’s exciting new feat.

They’re offering all sorts of thrilling activations to get Melbourne’s western suburbians and Melburnians as a whole excited about the new retail hype such as:

– Highpoint runway shows featuring key looks from the new fashion precinct’s retailers

– David Jones runway shows sporting some key looks from the DJs A/W13 collections

– the Highpoint Colour Hub, a place for customers to discover new season colour trends and the best way to wear them, and

– the hands on Highpoint Community Colour Display, allowing Highpoint shoppers to have their own hand in the centre’s decoration by turning a bog white Highpoint wall into a kaleidoscopic display of colourful exuberance.

Fun, huh?

Some looks for the season from our new retailers…

So on trend with emerald and studded pieces.

Zara Man

Clean, sophisticated, understated but easy to combine with corporate or casualwear.

So ‘indie’ I could die, but it works for a vast majority of men.
