Dita Von Teese me!

Skin, skin, skin!

Never have I thought I’d see so many pieces of female anatomy in one place at one time and have it professionally and artistically sound than at the Dita Von Teese Von Follies runway at this year’s L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.

Sitting atop our spacious and remarkably well-padded backseat haven and vantage-point, we watched in awe as the small, petite thing herself, Dita, minced her way up the floodlit runway to the thrashing media pit in waiting, ahead of a barrage of lingerie and undergarments ensued. I loved it.

Her entertaining walk, sexually seductive strip-tease, cheeky smile and profoundly impacting makeup artistry and hair styling left nothing to the imagination as we watched every heterosexual man in the front row writhe with discomfort as female eyes burned into their exploring gaze.

Varying tones of blacks, browns, greens, reds, greys and beige off-whites graced our aesthetic enjoyment as model after model paraded for all to see.

What we loved and applauded almost constantly was Dita’s choice of model, also. Voluptuous women of a ‘plus sized’ nature exhibited piece after striking piece of remarkably detailed lingerie and undergarments in a testament to the push for plus sized modeling in mainstream fashion and to also show that larger women can be sexy! To be brutally honest; give me a heftier lass over a rake any day. The kinkiness abounds!

Kudos to the brilliant face of Dita for aligning herself with such a brilliant mark on women’s fashion and for making something that realistically shames most women to think about, purchase and use, so acceptable, so accessible and so stunning.

The range is available in Target.
