Viktor and Rolf; I want you on me

A friend of mine, Gregory Amore, is heading over to Amsterdam tomorrow (15 February 2012) for an undetermined period of time.

Why? Because he, in all his fabulousness, managed to secure himself an internship with one of the world’s leading fashion houses, Viktor and Rolf.

Don’t know what I’m talking about? Watch their Autumn-Winter 2011 collection video presentation on their website. It will blow your mind. It did mine.

Victor and Rolf are two men whom founded an Amsterdam-based fashion house that has been bringing to their forefront of fashion, pieces that amalgamate fashion couture and artwork for around 19 years.

It was founded by Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren and shows no signs of slowing down as the years progress.

Gregory studied at the Whitehouse Institute of Design’s Melbourne campus and very recently graduated after three arduous and dedicated years, qualified.

After the pomp and ceremony of his graduation, Gregory was informed of an initiative by Fashion Future, which is running a global fashion mentor program. So in his lost state of a post-graduation daze, he whipped-up an application.

It was only a week before he received a mind-blowing phone call, informing him that Viktor and Rolf and seen his work, loved it and wanted to meet him over a Skype interview.

“It was so surreal and it still hasn’t really hit me yet that I’m going”, said Gregory. “The interview was so exciting and nerve-racking at the same time, but it was such a great experience.”

This coming from a man who has secured one of only two internship positions with the fashion house.

Greg’s work was no doubt picked-up thanks to his bold, brash designs, harmonious colouring that works brilliantly together and his mix of classic meets chic; all of which scream V&R.

All I can do from my small Melbourne hovel is wish Gregory the best of luck and all the success with this opportunity of a lifetime.

Veel succes!
